Konkrete Drums 3 by Soniccouture

Konkrete Drums 3 by Soniccouture allows you to take your percussion palette even further into exciting new sonic territory. This pack derives its unique range and power from the wide range of unusual equipment and inspired recording techniques used in its construction.

First of all Konkrete Drums 3 by Soniccouture uses (and sometimes brutalizes) all kinds of musical instruments, from the high-end to the esoteric to the just plain weird. In the mad pursuit of hits, kicks, punches, thuds, unheard bangs, klangs and thrills.

Then a special care has been taken to extract the maximum musical usability and flexibility from the decidedly unorthodox sampling material. As with Konkrete Drums 1 and 2, all sounds are organized in kits. Each one opens up like a Drum Rack, with an array of useful macro controls and effects that allow you to shape and completely transform the rhythms on the fly.

Here are some of the kits included in Konkrete Drums 3:

Xtended Piano: 

Created inside a 9-foot grand piano, this kit includes low kicks and seriously meaty thuds, as well as piano string scratches, body slaps and resonant bangs. Ideal for suspenseful rhythms and soundscapes or other film-influenced rhythms.

Buchla percussion: 

Created by playing on a Buchla 200e modular synth, this impressive bag of atonal sounds, metallic thwacks and suspended drum tones is a toolbox full of the most experienced.

Guzheng Kit 1 + 2: 

A delicate Chinese zither is micro-played for the hits; films, scratches, echoes. In other words, a perfect organic set for cool breaks.

Smash kit: 

We bought an old Hohner drum kit on eBay. We had to pick it up from a creepy closed garage near a seaside town in England. Then we took it into the studio AND HIT IT WITH MASSES. However, we had miked him beforehand. It should be noted that the snare drums sound like car crashes.

Kit EP73:

The delicate, vintage interior of a Stage 73 Rhodes, connected to contact mics, with the gain turned up to maximum. Small metallic hits and resonant tails finally form one of the most dubby sounding kits in the collection.
