Drumming Scratch
How to make the Drumming scratch?
First of all, drumming scratch is the combination of simple scratch techniques strung together one after the other.
For drumming, knowledge of drum rhythms will be a plus for this technique.
Drumming
This technique isn't really a scratch, it's a series of combos on percussion sounds to create a rhythm.
To create a rhythm, you can use any type of figure or combo to play a drum pattern.
There are a multitude of possible combos, allowing you to construct an enormous number of different rhythms and breaks.
Finally, to correctly perform this technique, you will need to master :
- The scratch baby
- The chop scratch
- The scratch stab
- The scratch chirp
Quick movements are required to move from one sample to another.
Ideally, a kick and snare drum should be played in the same rhythmic beat.
Then you need to modify the combinations according to the order of the instruments in the sample.
Note that a good turntable settings and a good cell (and its diamond in good condition) are the required equipment for drumming.
